The Places Container uses Near-Me functionality to help users find locations that are close to them and can also display mileage to show the distance from each listing.
When should I use the Places Container?
The Places container controls how the content is displayed so users see information that is most relevant to them based on location. Because the Near-Me functionality in the Places container will vary from user to user due to their location, it is best to use the Places container if distance is the best way to sort the data and the order doesn't need to display in the same way for all users.
A good use for the Places container is displaying nearby restaurants, as app users can quickly find a place to eat that is near them.
Information about stops on a tour might need to use a different container structure as the stops need to be followed in a specific order and the first stop on the tour should always display at the top of the list regardless of the user's location.
What does the Places Container do?
The Places container is used with Destination items that have an Address draggable. The container will use the location of the app user to adjust and order all the items in the container to display in order with the listings that are closest to the app user displaying at the top of the list.
The Places container can also show the mileage of each location from the user's current location to quickly show how far each listing is from the app user. This can help app users find listings that interest them and are nearby.
How do I create and edit a Places Container?
In the MAS, drag and drop a Places Container Draggable onto the editable area.
Adding Distance info to a Places Container:

How Items appear in the App:
The closest location will be at the top of the list, moving towards the farthest away location. In the Mobile App Studio, you will see a placeholder of "0.0 mi" when turning on the Distance checkbox, as the preview does not include GPS info.
If you do not select a Places Container for your Items, they will be displayed in the order listed in the Mobile App Studio.
GPS sorting requires the app user to allow GPS functionality on their phone. This feature is prompted when installing the app.
How to adjust Privacy / Location Services in iOS:
